Thank You!

The Peshwa Restaurant has decided to close its operations from last week. We are writing to you on behalf of The Peshwa Restuarant to thank you for your patronage and the valuable feedback that you have provided from time to time.

The restaurant was started in Jan 2011 with a simple intention of introducing largely-unknown Maharashtrian cuisine to everyone. We managed to compile an impressive menu of dishes from various corners of Maharashtra. We also attempted to follow recipes that were most original from each region. We may not have been as successful as we would have liked, but we are happy that we increased awareness about Marathi food through this endeavor and create a new type of cuisine in the market that is dominated by North-indian and chinese restaurants.

Though we are moving out of this space because of lack of resources and owners focusing on other businesses, we would be happy if someone with experience of food-industry takes up the concept and make it a success that all maharashtrians would like to see. With a population of 6-7 lac marathi people in Bangalore and being the only Maharashtrian restaurant here, if someone with dedicated focus comes forward, the goal is definitely achievable.

We are open for sale or partnership options. Please contact us at management@thepeshwa.com

Mr. Chandru from ‘Bombat Bhojana’ at The Peshwa Restaurant

Just a few months back, ‘The Peshwa Restaurant’ started in Bangalore, with a mission to give a face to Authentic Maharashtrian Cuisine. The goal here is not to compete with any other type food but to make available the same childhood taste to all those Maharashtrian who have left their birth places and settled across different part of world. ‘The Peshwa’ in Bangalore is the first attempt towards this goal. While ‘The Peshwa’ provides home made taste, it also started a ‘movement’ to introduce Maharashtrian cuisine to non-Maharashtrian folks. Famous Kannada actor-cum-anchor Mr. Chandru’s ‘Bombat Bhojana’ acknowledgment of ‘The Peshwa’s’ work in this field is an important milestone towards achieving this goal. 'The Peshwa' will appear very soon on Suvarna TV.
Keep checking this blog for the schedule.
